How to Delete a Roblox Account

There is still no in-app delete button. Deactivate if you want a pause. File a privacy request if you want it gone.

Deletion is permanent

Robux, limiteds, badges, friends, messages, and games you published leave with the account. If you only want the profile hidden, deactivate instead. If the account was stolen, recover it — do not delete someone else’s login problem.

Deactivate vs delete

Roblox’s own help page splits this into two actions. Most people who Google “delete my Roblox” actually want the first one.

Deactivate — you do this in Settings. The profile is hidden. Some Marketplace listings can still show. Logging in reactivates the account. Fast, no ID, no support ticket.
Delete — you ask Roblox to forget the account. Official path: support form → Data Privacy Requests → Right to Be Forgotten. They verify you first. After it completes, that username and data are gone.

1) Deactivate (the pause button)

Log in on the website if you can. The Privacy deactivate control is more reliable there than in-game.
Open Settings → Privacy.
Find Account Deactivation and Deletion and choose Deactivate.
Confirm. The next login brings the account back, so keep the password if you might return.

Parents: if the goal is “no Roblox tonight,” deactivate and change the password / enable an Account PIN. You do not need a week-long privacy ticket for a timeout.

2) Permanently delete (Right to Be Forgotten)

Open the official form at roblox.com/support (or the Help Center request page). Type the URL yourself.
Use the email already on the Roblox account. That is how they prove it is you.
Under the issue type, choose Data Privacy Requests, then Right to Be Forgotten (RTBF).
Write one clear sentence: you want the account permanently deleted and its personal data erased. Include the username and, if you have it, the User ID (username to ID).
Submit and watch that inbox — including spam. Confirm the follow-up email or the request stalls.
If they ask for identity verification, complete only the official Roblox / Persona flow. Passport, driver’s license, or national ID is typical. A mismatch with the age on the account can pause the ticket.

If the dropdowns look different on mobile, say in the description that you want a Right to Be Forgotten deletion. Do not send your password or 2FA codes. Support does not need them.

3) Parents deleting a child’s account

You need the account email, or a billing email that can prove purchases on that username.
State that you are the parent or guardian and name the child account. Keep it factual.
Spend leftover Robux or transfer group/game ownership before you file if those matter to you.
Unauthorized charges are a billing problem, not a delete problem — use the refund guide first, then delete if you still want the account gone.

4) What you lose

Username, display name, friends, messages, and the profile URL.
Robux balance, gift cards already redeemed, Premium time, and inventory including limiteds.
Badges, game progress, and creator earnings that were still sitting as Robux.
Experiences and groups you own, unless you moved ownership first.

Creating a new account later is allowed. Reusing the same username is not guaranteed — someone else can take it after deletion.

After you submit the form, watch the account email. Roblox typically asks you to confirm the request. If you ignore that email, nothing happens. Once they accept the request, processing is often several business days and can run longer if the ID is unclear or the account is under review.

Can a parent delete a child’s account?

Yes. Use the email and payment method tied to the account, submit the same Data Privacy / Right to Be Forgotten request, and say you are the parent or guardian. You still have to prove ownership. If you only need the child offline tonight, deactivate first — it is immediate.

What happens to my Robux and limiteds?

They are gone with the account. There is no cash-out of purchased Robux. If you own a group or published experiences, assume those go too unless Roblox tells you otherwise during the ticket. Transfer ownership before you file if you care about keeping a game online.

I was hacked. Should I delete instead of recover?
